
After 15 years in HR, our founder- Alanna kept seeing the same thing. The “people” function getting boxed in as the rule enforcer, fact checker, and file keeper. HR had the power to transform workplaces, but too often, it got stuck in the admin loop.
So in 2025, we decided to flip the script. HummingbirdHR was born to bring movement, meaning, and a little magic back to how businesses attract, retain, and engage their people. We are here to prove HR can be both strategic and human with less fluff and more flight.

This part is personal. After our founder’s mom passed away, her family started noticing more hummingbirds, always showing up when they were needed most. It felt like little visits from her, bright reminders to find joy, stay curious, and keep showing up.
Somewhere along the way, between grief and a new love of gardening, the symbolism stuck. Hummingbirds are small but mighty, adaptable, fast, and purposeful. They pollinate, they connect, and they make growth possible.
That is exactly what great HR should do.
